Dr Pid'ange Tampa-Sahum is a UK-trained Family Physician practising Family Medicine in Ontario, with professional experience spanning the United Kingdom and North America.
Before medicine, I trained in engineering. That training continues to influence the way I approach clinical problems — breaking a presentation down into its parts, understanding how those parts relate, and asking what question each test or decision is really meant to answer.
I subsequently studied Medicine at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, University of London, graduating in 2009. After completing postgraduate medical training in the United Kingdom, I undertook specialist General Practice training and qualified as a GP, with Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners.
My subsequent career has included NHS and private general practice, clinical leadership, community health programmes, and health education work in the UK and internationally. I later qualified with the College of Family Physicians of Canada and now practise Family Medicine in Ontario.

Modern healthcare can become fragmented. One doctor manages one condition. Another manages another. Tests are ordered. Medications accumulate. Information becomes difficult for patients to navigate. A good Family Physician helps bring those pieces together.
A detailed history often provides the most important clues to a diagnosis. Time spent listening is rarely wasted.
Symptoms rarely exist independently of lifestyle, family history, medications, psychological wellbeing and social circumstances.
Good medicine is not about ordering every available test. It is about selecting investigations that answer meaningful clinical questions.
Patients should understand what we think is happening, what we do not yet know, and what happens next.
Detecting risk before disease develops is one of the most valuable things primary care can achieve.
My work extends beyond individual clinical consultations. I have a longstanding interest in health education, public health, health inequalities, African and diaspora health, clinical leadership, international development and medical mentorship.
I am a co-founder of CONDADA UK — the Congolese Doctors and Dentists Association UK — an organisation supporting health education, professional development and community healthcare initiatives involving Congolese communities in Britain and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
I have also co-authored published clinical research, including a case report on coagulopathy following intravenous alteplase in acute ischaemic stroke.
